Stuff Study Abroad Students Say

by Amizade Global Service-Learning

In response to the recent flood of YouTube videos poking fun and commenting on “Stuff ___ Say,” two recently returned Amizade students took the trend to the typical study abroad experience. This video is intended to poke fun at the embarrassing and sometimes ethnocentric statements many of us make while studying abroad. The students who created this video recognized that their experience with Amizade was a bit different. The students felt that – unique from other experiences studying abroad – they returned with less stories of “partying” and more tales of community-connection and empowerment. While it’s true that study abroad sometimes gets a bad name for ignoring academics and community interaction, we know that this is not the intention of any study abroad program.

We invite you to watch, share, laugh, and consider Amizade- a different study abroad experience.
