Our Team: Tierna McConnell

Tierna McConnell

Global Projects Intern

Originally from Northern Ireland, Tierna is studying a BA History and Politics degree at Queen’s University, Belfast. She is taking a year out from her studies to stay in Pittsburgh and work with us as an intern within our organization’s headquarters. Tierna has experienced previous cross-community projects such as the Ulster Project and she hopes to help us build a more understanding of the Northern Irish community. She first got involved in volunteering when she participated in the John Paul II Award which allowed her to travel to the Czech Republic and Poland to join others from around the world in outreach programs. She is excited to spend her year here in the states getting to know the city of Pittsburgh and diving into our work here at Amizade.
