** In respect and for the protection of Amizade’s community partners, all individual volunteers are required to complete a background check before departing on an Amizade sponsored program. All reports must be dated within 6 months prior to your placement. Amizade uses a service called Justifacts to complete all background checks. The cost of this background check is $40 for all individual volunteer applicants, with the exception of New York residents, who will be charged $100 to cover all NY state background check fees. Once you have submitted your deposit and confirmed your program, we will submit your name to Justifacts and you will receive an email and link to complete and submit your information authorization for the background check.
If you have had a similar check completed in the past 6 months and would like it to be used in place of the Justifacts background check, please email the documents to email@example.com for consideration. *Non-US citizens should contact us for country specific requirements, forms, and fees.
