Amizade volunteer awarded prestigious scholarship in the U.S.

We have fantastic news coming from our community partners in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
Amizade’s very own volunteer Adri Navid was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship at Lynn University in Florida, after participating in a highly competitive process funded by the United States Embassy in Bolivia. This scholarship is only given to one U.S. student and one international student, and it covers 100% of the grantee’s tuition at Lynn for their entire college career.
Adri was part of the second cohort of participants from Bolivia and Peru who traveled to the U.S. through YAPSA (Youth Ambassadors Program for South America), a one-month long exchange program funded by the U.S. State Department, that Amizade administered for three years. Upon return to her home community, motivated by the excitement of her global experience in Pittsburgh and Washington D.C., Adri joined our team led by site director Jean Carla Costas in Cochabamba. As a volunteer—and also a talented musician and dancer—Adri welcomed many Amizade participants into her community and helped them get immersed in the Bolivian culture by introducing them to local music, dance, and arts.
Our team couldn’t be prouder of Adri, and we wish her all the best in this new phase of her journey as a global citizen.
Below, you can see the application video submitted to Lynn University that granted Adri the scholarship.
